How is Labiaplasty Surgery Performed?

The surgery is performed under local anesthesia, general anesthesia. The surgery generally takes 1 hour. However, if different surgeries will be applied to the vagina (such as tightening), the procedure may take longer. There are many methods to perform this surgery. The experience of the doctor who will perform the surgery is very important.

Things to Pay Attention after Labiaplasty Surgery

You should follow the instructions of the doctor after labiaplasty surgery. Swelling and edema in the vagina after the operation is very natural. A cold compress to be applied to this area will help to eliminate the edema. The sutures made in the surgery will fall off without any intervention within a period of 10-15 days. Sports such as horse riding and cycling should be avoided. Cleaning of genital area after urinating should be done from front to back as always. In order to minimize the risk of infection, the patient  should not enter the pool, sea, Turkish bath or jacuzzi. Having shower while standing should be preferred. You should refrain from sexual intercourse for as long as your doctor instructs you. You should not do waxing and epilation until the genital area is fully healed.

After Labiaplasty Surgery:

  • Since the labiaplasty operation does not affect the birth canal, it does not affect normal birth or cesarean section surgery in any way.

  • No suture mark is left after the operation in the vaginal area. For this reason, no one will understand that you have had this surgery.

  • Since the excess tissue is removed from this area, sagging does not occur again.

  • In this surgery, the hymen is not damaged.
