What is a Penile Prosthesis?
The penile prosthesis, also known as the happiness stick, is a method preferred by the male, who cannot experience an erection during sexual intercourse with natural methods and simple treatments. Penile prosthesis obtained from silicone is performed by placing 2 rods into the penis.
There are three different penile prostheses:

One-piece bendable penile prosthesis: When you want to hide this prosthesis, which is always in an erection, you can bend it at an angle of 135 degrees. You can straighten it with hand when you want to have intercourse. It is guaranteed for life.

Two-piece semi-rigid penile prosthesis: Thanks to the pump placed in the testicles, the person can inflate the prosthesis at any time and make the penis erect.

Three-piece inflatable penile prosthesis: This prosthesis consists of a pump, a cylinder and a reservoir. Unlike the others, this prosthesis has a fluid-filled reservoir. Three-piece prosthesis provides the closest hardening to natural erection. Thanks to the button on the pump, the cylinders are emptied and the penis becomes flaccid. This is the most preferred prosthesis and the prosthesis that satisfy the patients most. There are two types: the one that expand both transversely and longitudinal and the one that expands only transversely.
How is the Penile Prosthesis Placed?
After the examination and approval of the doctor, it is decided which prosthesis will be placed. Thus, the operation begins. Penile prosthesis surgery takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Since it is performed under anesthesia, the patient does not feel any pain during this operation.
